When it comes to hearing health care, nothing makes hearing instrument specialist (HIS) and Burgess Hearing Aids owner Shawn Cogswell prouder than having a positive role in changing someone’s life. “I love the moments when a patient’s eyes light up from being able to hear their spouse from the other room,” says Cogswell, “or when they share stories of special moments, and I know I played a part in that.”
A proud veteran and owner of a veteran-owned practice, Shawn brings the same dedication, integrity, and commitment to service that defined his military background into every patient interaction. His mission is not only to improve hearing, but to serve his community with the highest level of care and respect.
Shawn’s commitment to hearing care runs deep, starting with a career change from being an industrial machine repairman working with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to becoming an HIS after 9/11. Before running his own practice, he interned with his stepfather — an HIS with 32 years’ experience — and worked two years as an open-house representative for the hearing aid industry.
Patients and their loved ones can count on Shawn to go the extra mile for the community he serves. He has earned the Hearing Healthcare Providers of Arizona (HHPA) seal of approval; is a member of the International Hearing Society, and HHPA.
